Maureen Denise McCormick was born on 5 August 1956 in Woodland Hills California the youngest and only daughter of Richard and Irene McCormick. She was raised by her mother, who was a housewife and a father who taught. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick began singing and dancing at an early age and frequently performed plays with puppets for the children from her neighborhood. Her fairytale rise to fame began when she took home her first Baby Miss San Fernando Valley contest when she was 6. This led to a call from the talent agent Pat Domigan of the Jack Wormser Agency and asked her whether she wanted to be in show business. McCormick got her first big job when she was cast as a television character in the 1964 commercial of Mattels latest baby doll Baby Pattaburp. That same year, she starred in another commercial that aired on TV for Chatty Cathy's doll. Soon afterward, McCormick was commissioned by La Jolla Playhouse to play the part of the character It up until It breaks. The Brady Bunch McCormick won the 1969 audition of 1200 kids to be one of the oldest twins on The Brady Bunch TV series The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show ran for five seasons. McCormick admitted the story Heres the Story. Surviving Marcia Brady, and Finding My True Voice (published in 2008) that McCormick nearly lost her Virginity to Barry Williams during the five-year run on the program.
